History

The New Hampshire Commercial Investment Board of Realtors was founded to serve the commercial real estate community. All our services and resources are to empower the commercial REALTOR® and to further the commercial real estate industry.

The Commercial Investment Division of the NH Association of REALTORS® (CID) was founded in 1976. It evolved into an independent, statewide and self-sustaining entity in 1984 under the auspices of the New Hampshire Association of REALTORS®. During those years CID provided a wide array of specialized services geared specifically to further the professionalism of its membership, and the industry at large. It proved to be the single source in New Hampshire for all commercial agents seeking industry-wide information and assistance.

On April 27, 1993, the Board of Directors of the National Association of REALTORS® voted to approve the formation of CID as a separate commercial Board of REALTORS® with statewide jurisdiction within New Hampshire. This new non-residential board became the first approved statewide Commercial Overlay Board in the nation; a historic accomplishment, realized on July 1, 1993.

The establishment of a commercial board of REALTORS® affords commercial real estate professionals the opportunity to join both the state and national associations through a single board, one that is solely and collectively oriented to specific commercial needs. As such, the New Hampshire Commercial Investment Board (NHCIBOR) was born, pioneering the beginning of a new era in commercial/industrial/investment real estate leadership.
