The goal of the Education Committee is to provide NHCIBOR members with educational opportunities that specifically address commercial brokerage topics. The Education Committee is constantly looking for ideas and suggestions for seminars that offer continuing education credits that qualify for license renewal.

If you have any suggestions or needs for upcoming course topics, please contact the Education Committee Co-Chairs:  Lydia Foley at lfoley18(at)yahoo(dot)com or Deana Arden (formerly Theriault) at darden(at)nainorwoodgroup(dot)com.

Licensing Requirements

For information on Licensing and fulfilling course requisites visit the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission website.

NHCIBOR Course Offerings:

Commercially Oriented Core Course:

All active and inactive licensees are required to complete three hours of Core continuing education upon renewal of license.

NHCIBOR sponsors the mandatory Core course four times per year at various locations throughout the state. The Core course is the mandatory renewal course for all New Hampshire real estate licensees. This course is taught by a practicing commercial real estate broker and focuses on how the laws and rules apply to commercial brokerage.

Other commission-approved Core continuing education schools and individuals can be found on the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission Licensing page.

Electives

The first three (3) Quarterly Meetings of each year include an educational component. These meetings are approved for 2-3 hours of continuing education elective credits.

Featured Speakers & Other Courses:

The Education Committee organizes a variety of seminars throughout the year. In the past, we have brought in a panel of experts from various fields relating to commercial real estate and have held seminars with regional and national speakers.

New Member Orientation

Only REALTOR® members are required to attend NHCIBOR’s orientation program. Affiliate members are encouraged to attend, but are not required. Each two-hour class provides a history of NHCIBOR, NAR and NHAR, and explains the REALTOR® code of ethics. Additionally, members are introduced to other new members, they receive a detailed overview concerning the many NHCIBOR committees, including upcoming educational, marketing and networking opportunities and are also introduced to key features of the NECPE system.

It is mandatory for all REALTOR Members new to the REALTOR organization to attend the NH Association of REALTORS orientation. There is an option at NHAR’s orientation to attend the Quadrennial Code of Ethics training required by the National Association of REALTORS. To learn more about NAR’s Code of Ethics Training and/or sign up for the free online course offered through NAR, click here.
