NHCIBOR Cares Reaches All Time Highs in 2018 and Matches Member Donations During 11th Annual Pease and Carrots for the Benefit of Gather

Board Members, Bill Jean; Treasurer of NHCIBOR Cares and Marie Bodi; Board Member along with David Choate a recipient legacy award winner of NHCIBOR Cares prepare to present the 2018 donation to the Pease & Carrots 11th Annual Charitable Food Drive.  The annual food drive kicks off just before Thanksgiving and wraps up on December 21st.  Cash donations, food items and gifts in kind all contribute to Gather’s pantry in assisting their client needs.

During a recent initiative, Marie Bodi of CPManagement received a matching grant of $1,000 to be utilized in hopes of doubling the 2017 offering through CPManagment’s sponsorship of the Seacoast Marketing Meeting of NHCIBOR.  Through efforts to   educate her fellow members of the significant growing needs of Gather, (an organization Ms. Bodi serves as a Board Member) she focused her pleas toward two specific programs:  Meals 4 Kids and Meals 4 Seniors, Ms. Bodi stated “ I’m so grateful the match was met with such exuberance!”

“With the Pease n Carrots event having recently concluded it’s eleventh year, it is ironic NHCIBOR Cares is entering its eleventh of philanthropic assistance to many organizations”, furthered Ms. Bodi.  Founded in 2008 by a handful of caring NHCIBOR members, including the late Jim DeStefano, Judy Niles Simmons, Wilma Willson; among many others; the program has matured greatly from the member funded and generous donations by property owners during broker open houses; including the first summer mixer held this past August where Treasurer, Bill Jean of Fulcrum reported “several thousand dollars raised in its inaugural event will benefit several others in need including additional December donations to some new and/or recurring benefactors such as:  Shepard’s Pantry; Windham’s Helping Hands; Tower of Toys; Bedford Food Pantry; Worker Bee Fund; Haven, Habitat for Humanity Ammonoosuc Branch and Neighborworks,” he furthered.

As 2018 wraps up, Laura Nesmith, President of NHCIBOR Cares shared “we have lots to be proud of this year, with a 600% increase in this year’s giving, NHCIBOR Cares recently hit an all time high of $50,000 in donations to a very long and impressive list of organizations with many children centric and/or otherwise humanitarian charities.  Having touched over thirty organizations in this year alone, the entire Board of Directors join me in thanking the initiative of all those that donated to these efforts and also to those who sought funding for such great causes,” she concluded.

In this second year of matching funds toward the Pease and Carrots GATHER mission, a total donation of nearly twenty five hundred dollars was recently presented to Mike Toner, VP Finance of Gather.
