Housing Appeals Board
The New Hampshire legislature is currently debating legislation which will make it significantly less costly for property owners to appeal local land use decisions. Please take a moment to send a message to your state legislators to tell them that you support this effort.
House Bill 2 contains language creating a statewide Housing Appeals Board. Individual homeowners who are denied local permits for additions or other simple modifications to their homes often abandon their legal right to appeal because of the time and expense involved in a superior court appeal. The Housing Appeals Board provides a much less expensive and speedier alternative to going to Superior Court, after all local appeals have been exhausted.
